Also in the show are:

Mahine Rattonsey
http://www.rattonsey.com/
, a lampworking sculptor from New York State (this is our third show together!)

Nancy Sutcliffe
http://www.nancysutcliffe.co.uk/
, who is in Dubai, and does exquisite engravings (just look at her site)

Jacqueline Cooley

from the UK whose color-smart fused glass objects just got her a spot on the British Glass Biennale

Also on display are Candace Gawne’s glowing plasma sculptures.

I hope you will have a chance to look at their work as well- so many good artists are hard at work making real, original unique objects- it’s good to appreciate them, even if it’s only via a webpage!

Presence and Absence- new work by Amber Blanding (sandblast and cast glass), Anne Gant,
and Millicent Krouse (woodblock and linocut prints)
runs January 22 to March 5 at

Limestone Gallery in Fayetteville, NY

Opening Friday January 22 from 6-8

I haven’t met these two artists but I think the curator Anne N. Cappuccilli had a good eye to put us together.
Although we’re working in different media, we’re all working with incisions and subtractive methods of markmaking.
We’re drawing- in glass, paper and wood.

Happy holidays everyone!  Here’s a new piece that went on view at Belvedere Showroom in December. More to come in 2010! Photos courtesy of Belvedere.

I’m off to New York on Friday to install this show. The work has already arrived at the gallery.

This is going to be a great show- it’s all new work, a lovely new gallery space run by curator Ann Welles. It’s occurring during the Glass Art Society conference, so I hope to see a lot of colleagues around town and at the opening.  Editor Jata Haan made a beautiful digital film about the artwork, and Pinaki Ghatak (dj Pippins) composed and recorded brand new music for it. I will post a link to the film here, along with pictures from the show, in a few weeks.

Belvedere Showroom in Atlanta does a great job framing and displaying my artwork amongst their mid-century and new designer furniture. The piece shown at the top is called “Nocturne”. The lower one is “Archaeology.”
